Municipal Services
As a voluntary organization of local governments, ARTEZ fosters a cooperative effort to study and resolve problems, determine policies, and formulate plans that are common, economic and regional in nature. To serve its municipal members, ARTEZ:
- Serves as a mutual forum to discuss, study, identify and bring into focus regional problems and needs
- Fosters, develops and reviews policies, plans and priorities for regional growth, development and conservation
- Reviews and coordinates federal, state and local programs of regional importance
- Serves as a liaison with businesses, members, governmental units, and groups or organizations and as a regional spokesperson for local governments for Enterprise Zone projects
Business Services
As a non-profit serving the needs of businesses, ARTEZ strives to create an environment where entrepreneurs are encouraged and the local economy thrives. To serve business in the Enterprise Zone, ARTEZ:
- Implements strategies to retain, expand and attract businesses and jobs to the area
- Provides financial assistance for property improvements, business expansion, or job creation
- Facilitates brownfield redevelopment through site assessments and clean-up financing
- Markets available commercial properties through a network
- Initiates redevelopment plans and designs for industrial and commercial areas throughout the Enterprise Zone
- Advises and counsels businesses to ensure the Enterprise Zone maintains a thriving local economy
- Assist efforts to secure local, state and federal grants, loans, and credits for local business use and expansion
- Provides incentives to businesses that pay living-wages
Environmental Services
- Prevents sprawl by taking development pressure off undeveloped, open land
- Promotes environmentally responsible planning and construction
- Fosters business creation that supply green products
